According to the Press statement of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) today, the real GDP expanded by 6.3% in 2007, surprisingly higher than the earlier forecast figure.
The strong growth in the 4th quarter, 7.3%, on the demand side, driven by strong consumption spending and investment activities; while on the supply side, growth was broad based with strong growth recorded in all economic sector, especially manufacturing (5.6%), agriculture (6.9%) and mining sectors (3.5%).
